A DOG, YARD AND AN ANT

We added a new dog to our brood. He is a 6 year old Brittany Spaniel. He is fully trained as a bird dog and an inside dog. He is ultra sweet and adjusting as well as can be expected. His previous owners love him tons, but since they had a baby 18 months ago he hasn't gotten the attention they think he needs. He hasn't hunted in awhile and they really felt bad. It was so hard to take him, but we are really excited to have such a great dog that can be inside and hang out with the family at night. The kids really like him and Carsen keeps wanting to walk him. I know the excitement of a new dog will wear off, but I think they will still really like him.

We also finished our backyard today. The grass is in, the last step. In a couple of weeks we will have a backyard that the kids can go out and play. It has been a long day, but a great day. Almost perfect except for the fact that I got bit by a fire ant. I always heard their bite was the worst, but I had no idea until today. I have been bit by many an ant, but nothing like this. The pain was really quite intense for about 5 mins. After that I didn't want to cut off my foot anymore, but it still hurt for another 3 plus hours. I guess on the bright side there has been no itching. My mom said that fire ants were listed in the top 10 most painful bites. I think they should all be set on fire. I have yet to figure out a good purpose for those things. I am just very grateful that it bit me and not one of the kids. I would've hated to have to watch the pain in them. Other then that today was a great day.
