Happy Father's Day

As usual I am right on time. (This time I am only a day late, impressive for me.) But in my defense yesterday was not exactly a day of rest, well at least the morning part wasn't. I think Branden's best Father's Day gift was that he didn't have to speak, that honor fell on me. I got to be the High Councilman's companion speaker. I played for the choir (one of my callings) and then I did my next calling which was teach Sunday School. After that I got to fill in in R.S. and do my third calling play for R.S. I have to say that I was beat by the time I got home. And since I am married to the sweetest man on earth, he let me go lay down for awhile. He got to watch the kids and get them lunch and off for quiet time. Not much of a Father's Day for him. Good things those holidays aren't readily celebrated at house. I am not completely heartless he did get his favorite cookies made from scratch. (Something else I don't do a whole lot.) But I will defiantly brag about having the world's greatest daddy and being married to the world's greatest daddy for my children. Yesterday I was very careful in my talk not to honor my dad (I didn't need the water works to start so early in a long church day). But in R.S. I did and of course cried in the process. I just want to say that I grew up in utopia. I was privilege to have wonderful parents who loved me and loved each other and only had eyes for each other. I had really no idea that being married was hard, they made it look so easy. My dad was the best example of what a worthy priesthood holder should be. He treated my mom as if she was a queen and expected that from us. He also treated my sister and I like the princesses that we are. He was kind and almost perfect (not quite, he did have faults, but few and far between). I have missed him dearly over the past 9 years and look forward to the day when I will get to see him again and am grateful for that knowledge and for his and my mom's eternal marriage. There is no better gift. The other daddy I am going to honor would be my wonderful husband. My husband is a wonderful father to our 3 children. He does so much for all of us. He is one of the hardest workers. Our children love when daddy comes home and they tackle him to the ground and the wrestling begins. It has been wonderful over the past 2 1/2 years for us to live in the community he works in. Emmy has loves being able to be with daddy while he works. He has taught Carsen about working hard. And I can walk out my front door and usually see him within a mile of our home. Thank you Branden for being a great father and husband to us. It nice to know eternity is going to be a wonderful time. (I don't have a picture of my dad. I am not that organized that I have old pictures scanned into the computer so I'll just post one of Branden.)
