It has been a long day. We had my son's birthday party (a week early) for his friends. We did it over at the park and let the boys just play soccer, football, and basketball. They took on Branden and Hal (a family friend). Funny how grown men turn back into boys when the sports is involved. The boys did try to tackle him to the ground. They couldn't do it, even when they all jumped on him at once. I told Emmy (age 5) to go so the boys how it is done. A daughter can always bring her daddy to his knees. Carsen had a blast and I just made sure no one had to go to the hospital (including the dads). After that I we all came home and started working around the yard (which reminds me I have about 15 eggs that need to be cleaned and put away, oops). I decided to take on a tree that had sprouted out from the bottom of it. Needless to say my back hurts, my arms hurt and other things I didn't even know existed hurt. I started with pruning shears and that just didn't cut it (no pun intended). So I moved on to the ax. I wasn't sure how Branden would feel about that, he wasn't home at the time. I didn't suffer any wounds from it so he was good with it. I will say that an ax is heavier then I thought it would be. He did say that it being a double edged blade might of worried him, but I survived. I asked if I could use the chain saw next. He said "NO!" I think I could use it once. But the tree looks really good now and you can touch the trunk without be sliced by thorny branches. Maybe next I will chop a tree down. My luck it would fall on the house. While I was doing this, Branden took Adriana on a daddy/daughter date. He is trying to do this with each child once a month. He takes them out for ice cream and then where ever else and talks to them about school, friends, and anything else. I love that he thinks that this is important to do with our kids, especially the girls. I have to say after a day like this, I am really tired, but it reminds me of how great my life is. Good kids, with good friends, a good husband, and a great place to live. Life is good!!!!!!
Ok, so in the Gila Valley there is always wind. In fact I can't remember the last time I stepped outside and didn't feel a wind (not a breeze a wind). So it is impossible to light candles. So we pretend.
